![]() The main dishes were reasonably priced, plentiful, and well-prepared. The restaurant and club sit on top of a hill with great sight lines toward Boston. From almost every vantage point in the restaurant/bar, the view is spectacular, even at night. The View is a fun place with a lively, attractive bar area with multiple TVs, and a more sedate, comfortable restaurant side. I played the courses once, but this time we stuck with dinner. Granite Links is a golf club known for it's two interesting, hilly courses built on a prominent hill around former quarries, some of which are still open to inspection and also to poorly hit golf balls. Granite Links is in the Milton/Quincy area just south of Boston. ![]() Long way to go, but the trip was worth it. We are all in our early to late 30’s and I have never been ill from food like this before.ĭrove over 70 miles last night to meet another couple for dinner at the restaurant at Granite Links Golf Club. You need to address this with your staff and in particular your kitchen staff. I have to voice my dissatisfaction with the overall experience. I can only presume it was the shrimp as we were the only two that ate them. Of the party of six, two of us were violently ill through out the night and again all morning. We waited over an hour for the apps so decided we would go elsewhere for our main course but as it was late we went home instead. We order one of each of the apps with additional Prawn Cocktail. The service was very slow but we were relaxed so we weren’t too pushed. We were a walk-in party of six and arrived at 18:30 approx. Instead of writing on a public forum I prefer to contact you directly. I am writing to give feedback regarding our experience yesterday evening 21/08/20 We would not recommend you waste your time or money playing this overpriced course or dealing with young men who have no concern for how others are treated.īefore taking to Tripadvisor I wrote them an email but never received an acknowledgment. The cost was not the issue, just the counter customer service men working the clubhouse. We travel and play golf at the finest courses we can locate all over the country. ![]() We were advised the pro was named Steve and it would seem to me that Steve needs to let the personnel know that a kind word and a minute of their time can help resolve problems and could have changed our feelings by simply being a little more courteous. We had planned on buying souvenir shirts, golf hats and have dinner at the Tavern following the round. Again, not what we requested and we were not advised there was a problem getting proper clubs for our wives. We were told too bad! That it was the policy of the course that everybody needed a set of clubs and we got whatever. Our wives were upset and it was very inconvenient for them to share one set of clubs. They did not apologize or acknowledge any problem. When we mentioned this on our arrival back after the 18 holes, the clubhouse personnel were rude and again spoke to us like we were not important enough for them to even discuss the issue. They shared a set for the remainder of the day. We are seniors and our wives are not used to such heavy large equipment. Our wives could not play with them due to the size and weight. This was not really a concern, but on the second hole we discovered that the course personnel had used a ladies bag and stuck men's clubs into the bag even the putter! These clubs were steel shafted and huge. ![]() Total cost was $800.00 for golf and rental clubs. The personnel in the golf shop were rude and talked down to us. We requested two sets for men and two sets of clubs for our wives. We paid full price for golf and rental clubs. We made our tee times four days in advance and took a taxi from the Commonwealth Hotel to Quincy. We had been to Washington DC and traveled to Boston for golf and baseball at Fenway Park. It was the end of a two week stay back east. My wife, another couple and myself booked a tee time at Granite Links Golf Course on June 4, 2015. ![]()
