![]() BUT I HAD A TON OF PROBLEMS AFTER DELETING HIVEMIND!Īs soon as I turned on Kodi again it asked me to install core components. I thought that wouldn't give me a problem. Here it is:Īfter installing the Hivemind Skin on Kodi into my local microsoft account, I deleted the Alpha Console account and the Hivemind files from Add or Remove programs. If you don't have Alienware Alpha, but still want the HiveMind Skin for your gaming PC, I have uploaded the folder for you online so you can grab it. This should bring up Kodi with the alienware alpha ui skin running for the first time.Īnd that's it! You're done! At this point you can go inside Kodi and go to settings, then file manager to add your sources like SuperRepo and TVAddons like you would normally do. Once inside this folder, click on the PY file called " install_customizations". Now that you have the contents in there, you should go into C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Kodi\addons\service.aw.customizations Google this if you don't know how to do it.Īt this point it will ask you if you want to replace the existing files with these new folders. To view the AppData Folder, you must first have enabled "view hidden files and folders" option. You will copy the contents of that folder (userdata and addons folders) and you will paste these folders into your local account: C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Kodi There were other issues with it too.Īnyway, as /u/thexravenx explains below, you first need to grab the HiveMind installs from the folder C:\Program Files (X86)\AlphaUI\Kodi-Resources. I wanted to get rid of the Alpha Console account because I didn't like how it made me enter a password each time I logged into my desktop and it wasn't easy to transition between the two accounts. It was definitely easier than I thought I had just missed a crucial step, but I'll explain here what I did so that others like me, who want to get rid of the Alpha UI but still have the HiveMind skin on Kodi for their local alienware alpha pc account or any other gaming pc, can still use the skin with its addons. I'm replying to myself at this point, because I believe I figured out how to do it. and many things don't work, such as the programs shortcut. I tried the method you say by going into the resources > lib > hivemindsetup.exe, but that tells me it is already installed and when I reinstall, nothing changes.Īs of right now I am on the hivemind skin, but it doesn't have any of the addons like games, steam, etc. I can see all the addons are now in my folder, but don't know how to actually get them to install into Kodi in my local account. So I tried the method thexravenx suggests below and copied the Kodi-Resources from alpha ui folder into my username Kodi folder in my local account. I got the zip file from this link, but I don't know if it's actually right: ( ) Problem is when I try to install this zip file, Kodi tells me the "add-on does not have the correct structure." (The pop-up keyboard is killing me.) I tried following your directions, but the links you give in your comments no longer work! I can get more detailed if you have questions about anything.Ĭould you please help? I am trying to set up Kodi with Hivemind on my local account and get rid of Alpha UI altogether. I installed the two addons I mentioned earlier and set up Kodi the way I would on any other machine. Then I restarted to make sure it booted directly into the Kodi profile and opened Kodi. That way I could boot directly into Kodi still, but I would be able to open any other app I wanted as well. I set it up so that Kodi acted as the windows shell and only held the focus once. I switched to the kodi profile and installed Launcher4Kodi. I downloaded a neat little program called launcher4Kodi. ![]() This brings up the settings where you can autoboot into an account without typing in a password. I then created a new user profile without a on the Alpha called Kodi. ![]() I uninstalled everything from Alienware, deleted the alpha profile. I have some of this in an old comment on the video I posted I couple weeks ago How to boot to a desktop account by default with Hivemind Official Alienware Alpha: Gameplay Videos Unplug the power cable, and hold the power button for a minute to do a full electrical discharge.
